Daily Devotional September
2011
September 1
"Seeing it is one God, which shall justify
the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith"
(Romans 3:30).
The only way to gain God's approval is to
operate by faith, and not by works.
September 2
"Before I formed thee in the belly I knew
thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified
thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations" (Jeremiah
1:5).
Don't ever fall for the devil's lie that you
don't have a purpose. God has a plan for your life. Before you
were even conceived in your mother's womb, He predestined your
life to follow a particular path.
September 3
"He forgives all my sins and heals all my
diseases" (Psalm 103:3, NLT).
No matter what you have done in your life,
when you ask God to forgive you, He'll never bring it up again.
Only the devil does that, so don't walk around in condemnation
once you have repented for your sins. Be free in Christ!
September 4
"Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth
us to triumph in Christ…" (2 Corinthians 2:14).
It is the anointing inside of you that
enables you to be a conqueror over the enemy's assaults, so tap
in!"Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph
in Christ…" (2 Corinthians 2:14).
September 5
"But let it be the inward adorning and beauty
of the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible and
unfading charm of a gentle and peaceful spirit, which [is not
anxious or wrought up, but] is very precious in the sight of
God" (1 Peter 3:4, AMP).
The more you reflect God and godliness, the
more you will radiate His beauty. While you should maintain your
outer appearance, it is what is on the inside that counts.
September 6
"You will guide me with your counsel, and
afterward receive me to honor and glory" (Psalm 73:24, AMP).
God's Word will continually guide you in
life. The Bible is the only reliable source for instruction.
September 7
"He that committeth sin is of the devil; for
devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of
God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the
devil" (1 John 3:8).
When you become born again, you are no longer
the devil's property. Therefore, you are no longer under the
jurisdiction of sin and death; you don't have to sin if you
don't want to. Jesus has destroyed sin's power over your life,
so walk in freedom today!
September 8
"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would
that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is
the law and the prophets" (Matthew 7:12).
Treat others the way you want to be treated.
When you do, you are walking in the love of God.
September 9
"Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance
and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of
life" (Proverbs 4:23, AMP).
To guard your heart means to protect your
spirit from all unclean influences. This means discerning what
you look at, listen to, and talk about. When you do, your life
will reflect God and His Word.
September 10
"Do not spread slanderous gossip among your
people" (Leviticus 19:16, NLT).
Gossip is a sin of the mouth and is forbidden
by God. Believers should not engage in it.
September 11
"Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ
also received us to the glory of God" (Romans 15:7).
Seek to edify and strengthen your neighbor in
faith. Ask about their well-being and offer to help when they
have a need. As you do, the Body of Christ will continue to
reflect the light of God's love to others.
September 12
"And when he had made a scourge of small
cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and
the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the
tables; And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things
hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise" (John
2:15-16).
Jesus got angry, but the Bible says that He
never sinned. His anger propelled Him to an act of
righteousness. Let yours do the same.
September 13
"And if you belong to Christ [are in Him Who
is Abraham's Seed], then you are Abraham's offspring and
[spiritual] heirs according to promise" (Galatians 3:29, AMP).
Belonging to Christ means that you are an
heir to God's promise of total life prosperity and salvation.
September 14
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light
to my path" (Psalm 119:105, NASB).
The Word is the only thing that is qualified
to guide you in life. It is infallible and will never steer you
wrong; that's a guarantee.
September 15
"I have set the Lord continually before me;
because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved" (Psalm
16:8, AMP).
When you are planted in God's Word, nothing
can move you; not even the attacks of the enemy.
September 16
"…the joy of the Lord is your strength"
(Nehemiah 8:10).
You get strength from what you know from
God's Word. That knowledge will empower you to get through the
hard times in your life.
September 17
"Desire without knowledge is not good, and to
be overhasty is to sin and miss the mark" (Proverbs 19:2, AMP).
When you move too quickly without having
adequate information, you set yourself up for disaster. Instead
of rushing ahead of God, seek Him in everything you do.
September 18
"Casting all your care upon him; for he
careth for you" (1 Peter 5:7).
When you give your cares to God in your mind
and in your heart, you allow Him to reveal His power in your
situation. Refuse to worry about the outcome and God will always
deliver you.
September 19
"Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in
the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth"
(Luke 15:10).
Never downplay the impact of soul-winning.
God rejoices when even one sinner accepts Jesus Christ as Lord
and Savior.
September 20
"Praise the Lord; for the Lord is good: sing
praises unto his name; for it is pleasant" (Psalm 135:3).
Regardless of your personal circumstances,
you always have a reason to celebrate; God is good!
September 21
"And he said to them all, If any man will
come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross
daily, and follow me" (Luke 9:23).
Being a Christian means dying daily to your
flesh and the things of this world for the sake of fulfilling
God's will in the earth. That is what it means to deny yourself
and take up your cross.
September 22
"Praising God, and having favour with all the
people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be
saved" (Acts 2:47).
A sign of the anointing being present is
increase. Like the early church grew daily because of the power
of God, your life should show visible signs of consistent
increase as well.
September 23
"And I say also unto thee, That thou art
Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates
of hell shall not prevail against it" (Matthew 16:18).
It is your revelation of Jesus and the
anointing that position you for victory in life. He always
causes you to triumph when you know the power that resides in
your spirit.
September 24
"And God saw that the wickedness of man was
great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts
of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the Lord
that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his
heart" (Genesis 6:5-6).
Evil and wickedness disappoint God, but
holiness, purity and faith are pleasing to Him.
September 25
"Do not complain, brethren, against one
another, so that you [yourselves] may not be judged. Look! The
Judge is [already] standing at the very door" (James 5:9, AMP).
When you complain about other Believers, you
are complaining against God and His Word. Your brothers and
sisters are a part of the Body of Christ. Don't set yourself up
to be judged by God by judging other people. Instead, focus on
loving them by edifying and strengthening them in their walk
with God.
September 26
"If it be possible, as much as lieth in you,
live peaceably with all men" (Romans 12:18).
Do everything in your power to be at peace
with others. Purpose to walk in the love of God and He will
bless you.
September 27
"Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O
Lord. Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the
voice of my supplications" (Psalm 130:1-2).
When you reach the end of your rope, call on
God. He is always ready to hear and answer you.
September 28
"The way of a fool is right in his own eyes:
but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise" (Proverbs 12:15).
Take heed to godly counsel. It could save
your life.
September 29
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because
he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath
sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the
captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at
liberty them that are bruised…" (Luke 4:18).
If you are experiencing depression or
oppression of any kind, go to the Word for help. Jesus has
promised deliverance to those who put their trust in Him.
Meditate and confess His promise to set you free from the
enemy's bondage until the burden is lifted.
September 30
"Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal
body, that ye should obey the lusts thereof" (Romans 6:12).
When you become born again, you are no longer
under the dominion of sin. It is up to you to discipline your
mind so that it will line up with your born-again spirit.
