Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, Than a fatted calf with hatred. Proverbs 15:17 (NKJV)

Sermon of the week

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 (NKJV)

Why should the weary and the heavy laden come to Christ? very simple, Christ will give them rest. Rest is available, but we have to come to Jesus Christ in order to receive the rest of God.

Jesus Christ frees people from all burdens. The rest that Jesus promises is love, healing, and peace with God. My yoke Jesus said "is easy." If it’s heavy, it’s not His burden at all, because His burden is light. If what I’m doing is tough and wearisome to me, then I know it’s not the Lord who has placed that burden upon me. His burden is easy. His load is light.

Contentment

Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 1 Timothy 6:6-7

What makes a person content? It is godliness. Godliness alone can make a person content. Godliness alone can take a person and make him or her content. The material possessions such as money, houses, clothing, vehicles, jewels, they cannot last forever. We can lose, or ruin them in this life. We didn’t bring them with us when we were born, and we cannot carry anything with us when we die.

We came into the world empty-handed, and that is the way we leave it. Money is not evil in itself it is the love of money that is a root of all evil.

                   Alexander Thomas
